Documentation

This template creates a "hatnote"^↗ for use at the top of a page or section, to provide a note to readers. It provides only the overall formatting and styling of the message. Other templates that call it provide the actual messages to be shown.

This template should generally only be called by other templates.

Usage

• {{hatnote|content|margin-left=|font-size=|noitalics=|bold=|more-style=}}

The parameter margin-left (or the simpler indent) can be used to override the default amount of indenting, which is 2em^↗. The parameter font-size can override the default font-size of 95%. Setting noitalics (or noitalic) to any true value will suppress the default italic font styling. Similarly, setting bold to a true value makes the text bold. More style can be applied through the more-style parameter, in which case it should contain at least one complete, valid style declaration, like text-decoration: underline;.

Note that direct uses of this template in articles should probably be avoided. If there isn't already a template that will display the type of message you want, then consider creating one.
