"Bad Valentine" is a 2024 song written by Angelina, Toby Gad, and Charlotte Beard. It was first performed as a live-preview in a songwriters event (Jesse & Friends @ The Hotel Cafe). It was released as a digital single on 2024-09-20 and officially premiered the same day at Angelina's Glendale concert.
Shortly after that, a jazzy piano version of the song was released as digital single in early October. The same month, they performed the song in an inbetween version at the Wish Bus USA. In her Christmas Special in December Angelina performed the original version with her band, and the jazzy piano one with just Toby on the keyboard.
Jesse & Friends at The Hotel Cafe live preview
The song was premiered at the "Jesse & Friends @ The Hotel Cafe" songwriter event in Los Angeles on 2024-05-16. The event was for the first time also live streamed on the internet. Note that this is one of the rare occassions, were Angelina performed with shoes. She was also only casually dressed. She was performing as a part of Toby Gad's segment on the show, were he presented several of his classic hits, with him performing on the piano, Lauren Conklin playing a violin, and Dave Eggar a cello.

Original studio recording
Toby had written the song earlier with Charlotte Beard, and then finished it with Angelina in 2022.[1]
The released studio version contains Angelina's vocals as recorded in 2022, whereas the instruments were reworked for this release.[2]

Jazzy piano studio version
Shortly after the release of the original version, Angelina and Toby teased a jazzy version with just piano and strings instrumentation, which was then released on 2024-10-04.

At her 2024 Christmas Special at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles of 2024-12-14, Angelina performed the song in both versions. For the original version, she was accompanied by her band with Anthony Harvey on the keyboard.
