Grandfather

Angelina had two grandfathers, of course: her maternal grandfather (mother's father) and her paternal grandfather (father's father). They are both now deceased.

Angelina's maternal grandfather was a Japanese man whose name is not known by the general public. Angelina visited Japan in 2017-03, where she performed the song "Kawa no nagare no yō ni" ["Like the Flow of the River"] in Japanese, perhaps in tribute to him, as well as other songs in English.

Angelina's paternal grandfather, whose name is also not known by the general public, was probably Swedish, since her father was born in Härnösand, Sweden.

One of Angelina's grandfathers died on 2018-03-04. In a Facebook post made on that day, Angelina said of him, "Our family lost a treasure today, my grandfather passed away. He was very close to me and have always supported me in everything I did. He always made me smile, laugh and gave me great life lessons. He was a man who got respect from all over the town, always helped people in need, he was the definition of a true gentleman and generous man with a big heart. He will be remembered by homeless people he helped to be able to make a living. He was in deep pain for a couple of months now, he will no longer suffer from the pain." Shortly afterwards, she dedicated a performance of "Always on My Mind" (posted on 2018-03-10) to him. His picture can be seen in that video, as well as in her video for "Happier" (posted on 2019-04-11). Angelina has also said that her version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" reminds her of him.

Angelina's other grandfather died in 2019-11, after a nearly year-long battle with cancer. She said of her first major-label single, "Million Miles" (released 2020-11-06), "This song is dedicated to anyone who has lost a loved one. I wrote this song thinking about all the great memories I had with my grandpa and how much it hurts to lose someone."

It is not clear which grandfather died in 2018-03 and which in 2019-11. She referred to both grandfathers as "grandpa".
