Template:Ttv
Documentation
This template forms external links to TikTok videos. See also the more generic {{ttl}}.
The name of the template is based on the phrase "tiktok video".
Usage
{{ttv|user name|video number|text to be linked}}{{ttv|u=user name|v=video number|t=text to be linked|d=date uploaded}}{{ttv|user= |video= |text= |date= |accessed=}}{{ttv|u= |v= |t= |d= |accessed=}}
These are the most common patterns. Other combinations of parameters are possible. Note that the user name must be specified and must start with the "@" character; that is not added automatically.
The text to be linked (or the value of the text or t parameter) is typically chosen to be the (beginning of) the text portion of the post, but need not be. For similarity with the corresponding YouTube template, the alternative parameter name linktext can be used.
Use of the accessed parameter triggers "citation" style formatting, where "TikTok" or "[username] on TikTok" is given as the source and the value of accessed is used as the last-accessed date. See the examples below.
Examples
{{ttv|@angelinajordana|6969444148004883717}}⇒ TikTok video↗{{ttv|@angelinajordana|6969444148004883717|Killing me softly #foryou #killingmesoftly #foryoupage #jamming #music #viral|date=2021-06-03}}⇒ Killing me softly #foryou #killingmesoftly #foryoupage #jamming #music #viral↗ (2021-06-03){{ttv|u=@angelinajordana|v=6969444148004883717|t=Killing me softly…}}⇒ Killing me softly…↗{{ttv|@angelinajordana|6969444148004883717|Killing me softly…|accessed=2022-03-06}}⇒ Killing me softly…↗. TikTok. Accessed 2022-03-06.
As can be seen in these examples, this template needs some improvement.
Errors
{{ttv}}⇒ TikTok video↗{{ttv|}}⇒ TikTok video↗{{ttv|@angelinajordana/video/6969444148004883717|Killing me softly…}}⇒ me softly… TikTok video↗
The first two examples just link to the TikTok homepage — but if you wanted to link to that, you should have used {{ttl}} instead. The third example accidentally uses the syntax of {{ttl}}, resulting in a malformed link.

These templates are "special cases" of the more general template (which they all call):
{{ttl}}– link to any page at TikTok
And that template in turn calls {{TTURL}} and {{xl}} to form the link itself.
