Documentation

This is for marking a segment of translated text with a tooltip containing the original non-English text. It should only be used for short pieces of text, not whole paragraphs.

Since double quotes (") are used around the tooltip text (the non-English text), that should not contain any double-quote characters. It also should not contain any links or other wiki markup, because all of that is lost in a tooltip. Extended quotes and quotes containing links, template calls, etc., should be rendered differently.

Usage

• {{translation from|lang|non-English text|English text}}

Here lang is the two- or three-letter ISO code^↗ for the language being translated from. Currently this is rendered as-is in the tooltip, but it might be passed to the {{lang code to en}} template in the future.

Note the order of the two texts: the original non-English you are translating from followed by the English translation.
