Template:D
Documentation
This template formats dates according to users' preferences and links them to entries in our Timeline. If no date is specified, it uses the current date (which is almost certainly not what you want, since the link target would change each day). Dates that do not correspond to events in the timeline (including cases where the dates "just happen to" be in the timeline but refer to events not discussed there) can be formatted using {{du}} instead of this template.
The name of this template is based on the word "date".
Usage
{{d|YYYY-MM-DD}}{{d|YYYY-MM-DD|linktext}}{{d|YYYY-MM-DD|self=y}}{{d|YYYY-MM-DD|linktext|self=y}}
Setting the parameter self (or its alias here) to any true value, as seen in the third and fourth forms, will create a link to an anchor on the same page (a "self-link" or, more technically, "intrapage link"). This should be DONE when linking to related dates in the same year from an entry in one of the year pages that make up our Timeline. For example, if the entry for 2025-09-13 in the 2025 article refers to the date 2025-01-16 (so, in that same year), then the date should be linked using {{d|2025-01-16|self=y}} or {{d|2025-01-16|here=y}}. Because if just {{d|2025-01-16}} is used, then readers of the 2025 article will find themselves in the full Timeline after following that link, which is probably not what they wanted. (The functionality of this template might be changing in the future because of this very issue.)
