Save the Children Peace Prize Party
Angelina sang at the 2014 Save the Children Peace Prize Party (Redd Barnas Fredsprisfest), broadcast live on NRK on 2014-12-10,[1] a few hours before the Nobel Peace Prize↗ was awarded to Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzai. The event took place at Rådhusplassen [City Hall Square], a plaza in front of Oslo City Hall. She sang "What a Wonderful World" twice in the same location, once at 11:17 a.m. and again at 11:49 a.m.[2] For the first performance, sung only for the crowd (as the prize winners had not arrived yet), she was backed by a live band. Her second performance, sung in front of — and dedicated to — the prize winners, was sung over a prerecorded instrumental track.
This event is sometimes confused with the Nobel Peace Prize Concert↗, which takes place the day after the Peace Prize is awarded each year. In 2014, performers at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert included Queen Latifah (who also hosted the concert), Steven Tyler, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Nuno Bettencourt, Gabrielle Leithaug, Seinabo Sey, Laura Mvula, and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan (but not Angelina).[3] The Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) accompanied some or all of the performances.
