Documentation

This template creates a "hatnote" for use at the top of a page or section, to provide a note to readers about similar titles that they may be looking for. It requires at least two pieces of information: a topic that people might have been looking for and the title of the article about that topic. The template complains if it is not given these input values.

This is similar to {{about}}.

Usage

• {{for|related topic|title of related article}}
• {{for|related topic|title of related article|text to show instead of article title}}
• {{for|topic|article title|optional linktext|indent=|noitalics=|bold=|font-size=|more-style=}}

In the second form, the title specified in the second positional parameter will be linked to, but the text in the third parameter will be shown.

The parameter indent (or the more technically named margin-left) can be used to override the default amount of indenting. The parameter noitalics (or noitalic) can be used to suppress the default italics font styling. Setting bold equal to any true value makes the hatnote bold. font-size can adjust the font-size. More style can be applied through the more-style parameter. See also the documentation of {{hatnote}}, which is how this template is actually implemented.
