Template:Ytv/doc
Documentation
This template forms external links to YouTube videos. Other templates exist for linking to playlists, channels, etc.
The name of the template is based on the phrase "youtube video".
Usage
{{ytv|video id|text to be linked}}{{ytv|video id|text to be linked|t=timepoint}}{{ytv|v=video id|linktext=text to be linked}}{{ytv|v=video id|t=timepoint|linktext=text to be linked}}
Note that the t named parameter can actually appear between the video id and text to be linked positional parameters, (as it is in the last example using all named parameters), but that order just looks weird.
Examples
{{ytv|nwFloCPXzCs|Angelina Jordan - I Put A Spell On You}}⇒ Angelina Jordan - I Put A Spell On You↗{{ytv|v=nwFloCPXzCs|linktext=Angelina Jordan - I Put A Spell On You}}⇒ Angelina Jordan - I Put A Spell On You↗{{ytv|v=nwFloCPXzCs|t=36s|linktext=Angelina Jordan - I Put A Spell On You}}⇒ Angelina Jordan - I Put A Spell On You↗
Errors
{{ytv}}⇒ YouTube video↗{{ytv|linktext=Not actually a YouTube video}}⇒ Not actually a YouTube video↗
These are equivalent and lead to YouTube's homepage — but if you wanted to do that, you should have used {{ytl}}:
{{ytl}}⇒ YouTube↗

{{ytc}}– link to a YouTube channel (including specific tabs, like "About" or "Videos"){{ytp}}– link to a YouTube playlist{{yts}}– link to YouTube search results{{ytv}}– link to a YouTube video
These templates are all "special cases" of the more general template (which they all call):
{{ytl}}– link to any page at YouTube
And that template in turn calls {{YTURL}} and {{xl}} to form the link itself.
