Documentation

This template currently does absolutely nothing, but might eventually indicate the status of tagged articles visually in some way. It is intended to be used only in the main namespace, and only (so far) for the benefit of people actively editing an article (since readers can't see it).

Its purpose is to track the development of articles, indicating what has been done and/or what still needs to be done to get them into a marginally useful state.
