Sara Astar

Sara Astar is Angelina's mother. She has been described as Norwegian, but it is not clear where she was born. Her brother, Michael Astar, is Angelina's manager. Sara's mother is the Iranian poet and artist Mery Zamani. The name of Sara's father is apparently not known by the general public, but it is known that he was Japanese. Both Sara and Michael grew up for a time in Japan, and both speak Japanese, as well as Norwegian, English, and (presumably) Persian. It is not clear how much Japanese and Persian Angelina knows, as there seems to be no video of her actually speaking either of those languages. Since Angelina's father, Gerry Slattman, is Swedish, and given the high degree of mutual intelligibility between Swedish and Norwegian^↗, it is assumed that Sara and Angelina can also speak Swedish to some extent.

YouTube channel

The sara slatmann^↗ YouTube channel was created on 2013-05-13. As of 2022-06-20, it has only 4 videos — all featuring Angelina and all posted before she became widely known — with a total of 200,060 views and 399 subscribers. Although it seems very likely that the channel belongs to Angelina's mother, it is notable that it uses an apparently misspelled version of Angelina's father's last name: "Slatmann" rather than "Slattman". This could be because whoever actually created the account (possibly Michael or Mery) simply misspelled the name and never bothered to fix it afterwards. This is not as unlikely as it might sound, since there continue to be (in 2024) a great many "alternate spellings" of names seen in posts to Mery's TikTok accounts.
