This template produces a link to edit a specified page. It is intended to be used on pages where content is being transcluded from another page or a template. This allows one-click access to editing the actual content that is being transcluded.

This template is used on a great many pages. Making any changes to it will cause lots of jobs to be added to the processing queue.

Usage

• {{edit link|target page}}
• {{edit link|target page|link label}}
• {{edit link|target page|link label|float=text}}
• {{edit link|page=target page|edit=link label|float=text}}

The value of float can be any text that evaluates as true (i.e., contains any non-whitespace character), in which case the edit link appears floated to the right. (But this behavior is probably going to be changing soon, so that the value of float can be used directly in the style attribute.)

Note that the edit parameter provides a mechanism to override the default "edit" linktext; it does not specify the page to be edited (that's page). Sorry if this is confusing.
