"What a Diff'rence a Day Made" (also known by several similar titles, including versions with and without the apostrophe in the word "Difference"; ending with the word "Made", "Makes", or even "Make"; and with or without a final exclamation mark) is a 1934 song originally written in Spanish by the Mexican songwriter María Grever under the title "Cuando vuelva a tu lado" (lit. "When I Return to Your Side"). The English lyrics of the song were written in the same year by Stanley Adams; that version was popularized by Dinah Washington in 1959, using the title "What a Diff'rence a Day Makes" (the album the song appeared on was titled What a Diff'rence a Day Makes!).[1]
