Template:Album
Documentation
This template provides a quick way to link to our article for an album that shares the same title as a song that Angelina has sung (or anything else that we also have an article for). By convention, songs have "first dibs" on page titles over (almost) anything else — mainly so that templates like {{link-song}} can form "predictable" links to song articles. This is why, for example, our "Oslo" article is (or will be) about the song, while "Oslo, Norway" is (or will be) about the city.
To take a real-world example (currently the only real-world example), Angelina has sung the song "It's Magic" and released an album called It's Magic. The former uses the page title "It's Magic", while the latter uses "It's Magic (album)".
Hence, linking to the song is trivial:
"[[It's Magic]]"⇒ "It's Magic"
but linking to the album is more tedious:
''[[It's Magic (album)|It's Magic]]''⇒ It's Magic
With this template, you can just use:
{{album|It's Magic}}⇒ It's Magic
to get the same "piped" link (with italicized title).
This should only be necessary in cases where we already have (or plan to have) an article for a song (or possibly some other thing) with same title as an album. It shouldn't be used for just any album title. For example, if Angelina were to release an album titled Northern Lights but had not recorded a song by that title, the article for it would use the page title "Northern Lights", not "Northern Lights (album)", so using {{album|Northern Lights}} would be wrong.
Usage
{{album|Title}}
Examples
{{album|It's Magic}}⇒ It's Magic{{album|Angelina Jordan}}⇒ Angelina Jordan
This second example is "fake", but is a quite possible future usage.
