Documentation

This template creates an invisible "anchor" at the current location that can serve as a target for incoming links, or for links within the same page (like section headings do). Note that if you want the anchor to be applied to visible text, you should use {{anchor}} instead.

Note that no visible content is created, but the anchor that is there can be targeted by a link of the form [[Page Name#Anchor]] (or, if linking within the same page, just [[#Anchor]]).
