"If I Were a Boy" is a song written by BC Jean and Toby Gad, and first performed by Jean in 2008. It was popularized later in the same year by Beyoncé as a single and a track on her third studio album, I Am… Sasha Fierce^↗.

Angelina covered the song in 2024, in multiple versions starting with a live performance in Los Angeles. Multiple live performances in London followed, as well as multiple studio and music-video versions. Her last known performance was at the Wish Bush USA on 2024-10-21.

Studio recordings

Two studio versions were released on 2024-05-31, both sporting a Kite Records, Inc. copyright. The audio that was later used for the official music video is a more "produced" version with lots of instrumentation; in the Piano Diaries version, Angelina is accompanied only by a piano and strings. The vocal track seems to be mostly the same in both versions, with just a few small differences.

"Live Acapella" version

This appears to be the audio that was actually captured in the church during the session(s) that resulted in the Piano Diaries music video. This conclusion is based on the significant amount of background noise heard in the opening a cappella verse (including what sounds like vehicle noise). The opening verse, sung without musical accompanient, is taken at a much slower tempo than the previously released versions. The tempo picks up slightly for the second verse, where the piano comes in, but remains slower than in the previous versions.
