"What a Diff'rence a Day Made" — also known by several similar titles, including versions with and without the apostrophe in the word "Difference"; ending with the word "Made", "Makes", or even "Make"; and with or without a final exclamation mark — is a 1934 song originally written in Spanish by the Mexican songwriter María Grever under the title "Cuando vuelva a tu lado" ["When I Return to Your Side"]. The English lyrics of the song were written in the same year by Stanley Adams; that version was popularized by Dinah Washington in 1959, under the title "What a Diff'rence a Day Makes". (The album the song appeared on was titled What a Diff'rence a Day Makes!.)[1]scope: entire paragraph
