Songwriter
From Angelina Jordan Wiki
As of October 2020, Angelina has written the music and/or lyrics of four songs she has recorded and released:
- "Back to Black"
- original music and lyrics by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson
- lyrics sung by Angelina were almost completely written by her (unclear whether she actually received songwriting credit, as there were no credits listed in the physical CD release[1])
- uploaded to YouTube on 23 April 2016, to both Angelina's official YouTube channel[2] and the official channel for NRK[3]
- later released commercially on 27 November 2017, on Angelina Jordan – The EP[4]
- "What Is Life"
- music and lyrics by Angelina Jordan[5]
- "acoustic" version with musicians Dylan Meek (on piano) and Ivan Mendez (on guitar) uploaded to her official YouTube channel on 1 June 2018, under the title "What Is Life (Acoustic)"[6]
- version recorded with Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps uploaded to YouTube two days later, on 3 June 2018, as an "Official Lyric Video"[7] and then released commercially on 15 June 2018, on the album It's Magic[8]
- "Oslo"
- exact credits not clear, but presumably music and lyrics both by Angelina Jordan (Discogs just says "Written By" her)
- released on 15 June 2018, on the album It's Magic
- "Shield"
- music and lyrics by Angelina Jordan Astar, Askel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen[9]
- released as a single on 8 November 2018[10]
- first posted to Angelina's official YouTube channel the next day, on 9 November 2018[11]
Angelina has also partially rewritten the lyrics of other songs so she could sing them, including Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" and "I'm No Good", but she retained much of the original lyrics in both of these cases, and never officially released either of the songs beyond posting them to YouTube. (She did perform her version of "Rehab" in at least one live concert.)
She has also made somewhat trivial changes to the lyrics of other songs (changing genders and the like). These are detailed in the article about rewritten lyrics.
